Font
The font is bold and striking. All words are in capitals apart from the word 'are'. This enforces their 'in your face' cheeky style as the boldness makes the words stand out. The title of the band is bigger than the rest so it can be easily identified, however, it doesn't take up most of the page like a pop artists may have. This follows conventions of pop punk music as they do not detract attention away from their music and themes. The font remains the same throughout, however, the band name is angled backwards. The 'are' does not follow that theme. It breaks the rules as pop punk bands like to be viewed as doing. They do not follow a set theme totally and incorporate exceptions to the music industry rules.
Colour Scheme
The background is completely plain and black. This furthers the theme of the pop punk band not wanting to detract attention away from the music and their cheeky personalities. The font us a mixture of white and red with the exception of the star on the logo. The colours represent youth and boldness as they are bold themselves. The colours allow the words to be clearly seen and read, they do not hide anything. The colours are also mainly related to males. This follows the cheeky boy theme of the band, however, does not seem to exclude female fans.
Picture
The image also follows the theme as they are all pulling funny faces. They are clearly jumping and as they are not wearing anything on their upper half, are probably jumping into a pool. Hence them being 'in too deep'. They are all at different angles and the photos are quite random which show that they also do not follow the rules and are not set in their ways. The blue sky background gives the hint that they are quite high up, which puts a comical image in fans heads of them falling from a height. Their personalities can be assumed and appeal to fans or not appeal to them straight away.
Layout
This is quite simple. The separate images are shown together in a line to enhance ideas about their personalities. The text is also in the middle as to not detract attention away from the bands name and attitudes. The names of the members are put above their image as this was one of the first singles that the band did. They did not have the star power of being able to have their names quite small or not visible at all. They needed the extra information about their individual personalities to try to attract audiences to purchase the single.
Text
The text gives an idea of a story that is going to be told by the video as the words 'Sum 41 are In too deep' introduces them as they may be introduced in a film. It hints that the band are interesting people that an audience would enjoy to watch in a music video, also combined with the funny images, that they might make them laugh and entertain them. The names of the members are obviously nicknames that further this point. They give a feel that the audience can relate to them as the names are what their close friends (the other band members) seem to call them. The name 'brown sound' may be seen as quite edgy at the time and maybe slightly racist as the man clearly has a skin colour to the other members. This furthers the idea of them being rebels as they come quite close to crossing the line with their 'jokey' nickname.
